Cast My Cares On Something Greater

I writhe in the tension of my political campaign that coincides with a Federal coup. The need to have proper leadership is dire, and I get too invested in wanting the best for my community and others.

I’ve been looking to find the right cognition, the thought that can release me from the anxiety of running for reelection for Delegate for the California Democratic party. I’ve been looking for something greater than myself to depend upon.

The Christians have a terminology of “ Jesus take the wheel.” I grew up hearing Pastor Kenneth Hagen saying, “Casting your cares upon the Lord.” I’ve been seeking this kind of casting off responsibility so I feel less attached to the outcome.

I've expanded beyond the childhood labels around religion, so these concepts are not enough to put my tummy churning from the tension at ease.
